“Mobile exhibition space”

Performance

2018

“Backpack for immaterial heritage”,

Wood, leather, acrylic, glass, mirror and other materials

Variable dimensions

2020

The performance challenges the notion of the gallery as a fixed, static space by transforming it into a mobile exhibition through the use of cabinet backpacks. In doing so, it reflects on the persistent underrepresentation of women and minorities within artistic and historical institutions, including museums and galleries.

Engaging with themes of identity, equality, and collective memory, Acha seeks to spark dialogue around the circulation of art and the space afforded to marginalised voices. The artist is particularly interested in how art can function as a vehicle for empowerment and community building, fostering a shared vision among diverse audiences.

The Mobile Exhibition Space has been presented on multiple occasions in collaboration with various institutions and artists. The concept was first developed in 2020.
